Namun sayang, pasalnya OS teranyar Microsoft ini mewajibkan calon penggunanya untuk memiliki hardware yang highend agar kompatibel dengan Windows 7. Spesifikasi minimum agar bisa menjalankan Windows 7 adalah prosesor dengan clock speed 1GHz 32-bit atau 64-bit, memori sebesar 1GB, harddisk kosong 16GB, kartu video yang mendukung grafik DirectX 9 dengan memori 128MB, DVD-R/W, serta koneksi internet.
